"This is a big country and it's teeming with incredible people. Some are a mystery... and a few have a natural way with the sword and become a Hashira in two months. So I'm chosen? Gimme a break. You have no clue how much I've lost over the years!"

Tengen Uzui to Gyutaro in Entertainment District Arc

Info

Sound Breathing ( (おと) () (きゅう) Oto no kokyū?) is another breathing style in Demonfall that emphasizes on dual wielding.

To learn Sound Breathing, you must head to Slayer Corps and find Tengen Uzui somewhere behind the backyard of a house next to a neighboring house and Jako's place. Similar to Beast Breathing, you'll be granted a pair of gigantic Nichirin Cleavers which each have a notch in the sharp ends of their blades and are held together at the hilt by a metal chain, making it very reminiscent to nunchucks or kusarigama; a weapon that is exclusive to Sound Breathing users.

It costs 17 skill points to complete the entire skill tree.

Kendo Mastery does not change the animation nor give another M1 and Kendo Agility II gives no improvement to swing speed(unlike Agility I which can allow you to obtain Lunge). Just like Insect, Beast, Love and Moon Breathing, you can't craft another Nichirin while you have this breathing style. It also shares Beast's guardbreak and M1 animations.

Sound focuses on blinding and sending people in the air with delayed swings that creates massive explosions.

Obtaining the Breathing

First Task: Find Uzui's wives, Suma, Makio and Hinatsuru. (Full Guides: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=VsV9h3RRceg&t , https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=N-ejTlDUJjw and https://youtu.be/zy84BbnqrZA?si=Z7SEAwivT0hMYg5O)

Second Task: Give Tengen 3 Perfect Crystals.

Note: The second task may be impossible to accomplish if you don't have three perfect crystals in your inventory beforehand, as Perfect Crystals rarely appear in the map.

Tips for completing the tasks

  1. The best way to get a Perfect Crystal is to go to the cave near Zenitsu, go to the top corner on the right side, collect the trinket there, then rejoin. Keep on rejoining until you get the 3 perfect crystals. It takes an average of 1-5(or more) server hops to find a perfect crystal in the Zenitsu Cave.
    1. Another way to get the crystals fast is to do the same method as tip number one, but however, this time it is near Slayer Corps. If you climb the tall mountain near Slayer Corps, then go to the corner again, do the same method as tip number 1.
    2. Furthermore, you can get a perfect crystal in the Okuyia Cave, near the Crystal Cave entrance, there should be a ledge from the right that you can leap onto, head towards it, go left and keep going forward until you see a trinket/crystal.
    3. There is a perfect crystal location at the Coast Forest. The best way to find it is to head to the intersection between Coast Forest, White Peak and Hayakawa Village, jump onto the ledge ahead after leaving Hayakawa, then keep going north from where you are then head to a bush. There, you'll get either a trinket or a crystal.
    4. Upon leaving Okuyia from the tertiary exit(as it has three entrances/exits), head towards the path to Final Selection, but go astray from said path and climb the first mountain, reaching the second height of the mountain, keep going then turn left and you'll usually see a crystal or a trinket.
    5. There is a crystal location behind Slayer Corps, climb the ledge from the far left, go right and climb the second ledge, and head towards the upper right corner of the dead end area, and a crystal/trinket usually spawns there

Sound Skill Tree

Sound Breathing's skill tree.

  • Passive - Similar to Beast, M1 hits twice dealing extra damage. No other passives as of now. (8-9 damage per hit)
  • First Form: Roar ( (いち) (かた) (とどろき) Ichi no kata: Todoroki?) - The user lifts their twin swords above their head and slams them down with great force whilst simultaneously creating an explosion with his bombs to deal massive physical damage, causing a loud sound resembling thunder as a result.

Deals 20 - 30 damage with a 30-second cooldown and consumes 40% of the breath bar. [Hyperarmor] [Guard Break]

  • Second Form: Bang ( () (かた) () (せつ) Ni no kata: Kizetsu?, lit. Second Form: Stun) - The user swings both of their blades horizontally outward in a cross slash manner, making a flash effect that can blind the target for a specific amount of time and it can also damage them as well. This is the first ever "flashbang" skill to ever exist in-game.

Deals 5 damage with a 15-second cooldown and consumes 50% of the breath bar. [Flashbang/Stun Effect][Ignores Guard]

  • Fourth Form: Chain Explosion ( () (かた) (ばく) (はつ) (ほう) () Shi no kata: Bakuhatsu no Hōka?) - The user clashes their blades together, creating a stream of explosives down towards the enemy. This form is almost reminiscent to Moon Breathing's Catastrophe.

Deals 50 damage with a 50-second cooldown, has a range of about 200 studs and consumes 70% of the breath bar. [Guard Break]

  • Fifth Form: String Performance ( () (かた) (めい) (げん) (そう) (そう) Go no kata: Meigen Sōsō?) - After a short cast delay, the user swings their right blade while dashing towards their target, creating trails upon trails of explosives. This is almost similar to Mist Breathing's Shifting Flow Slash. It has the same stance as Thunder Breathing Thunderclap.

Deals 26 damage with a 52-second cooldown, has a range of about 153 studs and consumes 60% of the breath bar. [Blockable]

  • Sixth Form: Smoke ( (ろく) (かた) () える Roku no kata: Kieru?, lit. Sixth Form: Vanish) - The user creates a black puff of smoke and turns invisible, this can be used to break free from an infinite combo similar to any I-frame moves, but it slows the player down.

Has a 1-minute and 23-second cooldown and cosumes 20% of the breath bar. [I-frames]

Demonstration

— Sound Breathing —

Trivia

  • Originally, Sound was going to have four moves only.
    • In the Discord Server; while Sound Breathing was in the making, the icon maker of the Breathing Styles, Marukusu, wanted to put their own form called "Sixth Form: Final Parade" in the skill set. But it was later scrapped as Arrox said, "that's not possible." according to a screenshot of their private message. Hence, the Sixth Form of the Breathing Style became an I-Frame move and named, "Sixth Form: Smoke".
  • Fourth Form is nowhere near as similar to its original counterpart, Constant Resounding Slashes.
  • Mostly all Breathing Styles learn the first skill automatically after learning it, but Sound Breathing doesn't seem to allow players to learn the first form automatically, hence the expensive skill points. Unless the team accidentally forgot to put the code in.
    • Furthermore, the total amount of skill points we would've spend on the breathing style could've been 16 points.
  • Sound Breathing is a derivative of Thunder Breathing.
  • Sound breathing makes you move a lot slower
  • There is a glitch where if you use Lunge, you will have only have 1 sword equipped, this phenomenon may also happen to Beast Breathing as well.
  • Best paired with Kamado clan
    • This glitch also occurs out of any skill kickstarts, so make sure you already have your swords drawn before a fight, or your combo will effectively deal half damage, as you will only be swinging with one sword. Sound breathing heavily relies on extra m1 damage to be a great breathing, so this is crucial.
