Slayer NPCs are a group of npcs that guard around villages and kill demons and hybrids that gets nearby.
There are two different types of Demon Slayer NPCs, one that has no breathing, and one that does. The Slayers with breathing will only be able to use one move. These NPCs will automatically attack any demon or NPC demons in range. If you attack an Slayer NPC or Zenitsu as a Slayer, all nearby NPCs will target you. Slayer NPCs have a very high chance of dropping Broken Nichirins, used for the Greatsword Combat Style and for the storyline. They can also be sold to Omah for 30 Yen each at the Demon Purgatory.
Basic Slayer NPCs[]
These NPCs do not have a breathing and are similar to Basic Demon NPCs. Basic Slayer NPCs will wear the default black Slayer uniform. It is recommended to practice parrying on these as it is very easy to figure out and it can help to learn how to parry if you want an easier time getting your Demon Art. They drop 5 yen and 40 exp upon death.
Breathing Style Slayer NPCs[]
Some Slayers NPCs will have Breathing. They wear haoris most of the time, but in some cases will appear the same as Basic Slayers. The Breathing Slayers only have either Flame, Water, or Wind as their breathing style. All Breathing Slayers will usually Perfect Block your basic attacks and cancel their basic combos to break your guard, so be mindful. They can Shoulder Bash and they have increased health just like Higher Demons. Once killed they give 100 exp and 50 yen
Flame Breathing Slayer[]
Flame Slayers use Second Form: Rising Scorching Sun, but do not inflict burn on basic attack. Rising Scorching Sun will knock you into the air, making you take fall damage. It can be used when you try to M1, and can be very annoying, so try to use long range moves.

Water Breathing Slayer[]
Water Slayers use First Form.

This is much simpler than the Flame Slayers. Water Slayers will do First Form at mid-range to try and close the gap, but you can easily bait this and fight them as you normally would. If you can keep sprinting around and you most likely will not get hit by the Slayer move. Wait he use his move before attack because he can use his first form as combo start which can deal even more damage.
Wind Breathing Slayer[]
Wind Slayers use Third Form. It is generally not recommended to fight Wind Slayers at all if there are more than two Slayers present.
Wind Slayers will use Third Form at mid-range, but unlike players, NPC Wind Slayers have a much faster startup on this form, making it extremely threatening in small areas or in large numbers. A perfect block can also be used but it requires good timing and good ping so i do not recommend it.
Tips[]
It can be extremely hard to dodge Third Form, so try to bait it out by rolling with Dash Mastery or double jumping and rolling.
Trivia[]
- Slayer NPCs can be hostile to Slayers if they hit them, but in Save the village missions, they will automatically go for any nearby Demon NPCs or Players and try to kill them.
- Slayer NPCs have lower health than Demon NPCs.
