Overview[]
The Sawed-Off Shotgun is a craftable weapon in Demonfall. It can be forged by Jako in the Demon Slayers Corps using 1 Weapon Part, 10 Iron Ore, and 1000 Yen.
The Sawed-Off Shotgun is an equipable item once acquired. It can be binded to either the Z or X key from the player's inventory. The Sawed-Off Shotgun delivers a single shotgun burst optimal for close to medium range combat, while knocking the player back. However, there is about a 0.5 second delay between the actual use and shot. Like a shotgun, it will deal more damage when you are closer to the enemy/more bullets hit, and less damage when you are farther away from the enemy and less of the bullets hit. It deals around 21-30 damage depending on the number of bullets hit. It has a cooldown of 20 seconds. You cannot drop this item. It costs 3000 yen overall.. ( 2000 for weapon parts and 1000 for crafting cost )
Pros[]
- Great as a combo ender, deals nice damage if you can aim it at the enemy after m1s.
- The Shotgun can be used to cancel moves, like Thunder Breathing's Thunderclap and Flash.
- The Shotgun does not require much aim as you'll most likely be using it after M1 or in Close Combat.
- The Shotgun has a very, very low cooldown when in PvP and could be spammed if you keep the match running.
- It can Kickstart if you don't have your katana out if a demon is running towards you
Cons[]
- Uses up one of the only 2 slots for equipping items.
- As of Update 1.4, the Shotgun's damage was nerfed by 30%.
- You sometimes end up forgetting you had the shotgun in the first place, which could be the cause of losses.
- Has some delay until it's actually shot, which can be canceled.
- You must pass final selection and become a demon slayer to be able to talk to Jako and craft the gun.
Trivia[]
- In the anime, Genya can be seen firing his Sawed-Off Shotgun twice before reloading, while in-game, the Sawed-Off Shotgun fires one shot before going into cooldown. While both sides differ from each other, most real-life double-barreled shotguns have a double trigger mechanism, with each triggers firing its corresponding barrel and it's possible to simultaneously fire both. Meaning to say that in Demon Fall, the user presumably pulls both triggers at once.
