The Flame hashira, Kyojuro Rengoku

"Go ahead and live with your head held high. No matter how devastated you may be by your own weakness or uselessness, set your heart ablaze. Grit your teeth and look straight ahead."

Info

Flame Breathing ( (ほのお) () (きゅう) Honō no kokyū?) is a breathing technique in Demonfall.

In order to learn Flame Breathing, you must find the Flame Trainer Rengoku, located at the top of White Peak. To learn Flame Breathing, you will need to complete a few tasks to prove your worth. After you have completed both of those tasks you will learn First Form: Unknowing Fire, and be able to learn the other forms using the Slayer Skill Tree.

Flame Breathing's moveset revolves around offense and countering. Due to how versatile the moves are, they can be used for mobility, offense, and defense. There is a counter move, and guardbreaking moves. They are all very fast in terms of cast time. This breathing style is not for combos, as almost none of them can be used to M1 extend, but for quick jabs of damage onto the enemy.

Obtaining the Breathing

First Task: Gather 20 Demon Horns and return to Rengoku

Second Task: Defeat the Axe Demon and grab his collar.

  • M1 x3 2nd form(If Kendo Mastery add one more click).
  • M1 x2 5th form(If Kendo Mastery add one more click).

Pros and Cons

Pros

  • The flame blade passive is super helpful for passive damage and cancelling out regeneration.
  • Rengoku is super strong in PVP, you can use it right at the start to get easy damage and 10 second Ragdoll on your enemy. It's also very strong in PVE, try to group together multiple demons and use Rengoku on all of them to get the most bang for your buck.
  • 2 Hyper armor moves
  • The first move is great for mobility use, such as jumping and then using it will increase range.
  • The counter is very helpful, especially when used to turn a fight around or if the person you're fighting is aggressive
  • All flame moves except for first form and the counter knock back (flame bend knocks back albeit slightly and second form sends you flying into the Air, basically knockback)
  • After using Rengoku, you can time the ragdoll to get a free M1 combo.

Cons

It's noticeably hardest to do combos with flame than other breathings

  • In order for flame to be on par with the best breathings, you need to have the Rengoku family.
  • Ninth Form has a long charge time which leaves you open to being attacked as it does not have hyper armor, which wastes the move that is probably the best move for Flame Breathing.
  • All flame moves except for first form and the counter knock back (flame bend knocks back albeit slightly and second form won't send you flying into the Air, basically knock back)
  • Only has 2 guard break (excluding flame tiger)

Notes/Trivia

  • Flame Bend is an in-game original technique, the true counterpart of Flame Bend is Blazing Universe.
  • In the anime/movie and the official Demon Slayer videogame, Hinokami Chronicles, Flame Tiger seems to be a projectile attack that deals continuous damage, whereas in Demon Fall, it's a slow and aggressive lunge thrust that launches that target away.
